It's My Birthday...
One of the greatest privileges I have in our country is to be able to publicly preach the Gospel
Today, I turn 47 years old. When I look back at my journey so far, I am amazed. There have been exhilarating ups and plummeting downs. But I can say, with all sincerity, I would not change a thing.
In 2002, I was a new believer in Christ who desperately wanted to see his mother come to Christ. This began my journey into evangelism. Since then, I have seen my mother and step father, as well as my own blood father, turn to Christ for salvation. I have been blessed to be an associate pastor of a Calvary Chapel in Loveland, Colorado and the worship leader for a small church in Ault, Colorado. I have performed 7 marriage ceremonies and have had the incredible blessing of getting married to my wonderful wife and ministry partner, Christine. And despite incredible travels and devastating job losses, God - in His great mercy and blessing - has seen fit to bless me with a wife, a son, great family and friends and 13 years of Gospel ministry, most of which has been in street evangelism and pastoral service. So you can see, as is common in my life, change seems always to be afoot...

At this time last year, I was a pastor of a small home church in Fort Collins, Colorado and loving it. It was hard work, but it was a labor of love. My sermon preparation time was a way for me to "dive deep" into the Scriptures and swim in those pure waters. It gave me a glimpse into the majesty that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of my greatest times with God are when I get to sit down and prepare a message for the brothers and sisters in Christ. And He blessed me greatly in this 2 year period that we served in this small church. I had the added blessing of having my fellow street preacher and gifted presuppositional apologist, Pat Hegarty with me as the fellow pastor in our little fellowship. We taught through the Book of Acts and most of Ephesians, before the Lord ended our home church. Eventually it became clear that we were not to continue and so we "closed the door" and moved on.
My wife, Christine, my son Joshua
and I am the hairy one...
Today, my wife and I are raising our son and pursuing our respective roles. I go to work as a paramedic (which I have been doing since first becoming an EMT in 1989) and my wife Christine, keeps the home fires burning as well as overseeing the education of our son, Joshua. We are now attending and pursuing opportunities to serve in our new church, Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, who have taken us in and encouraged us in our ministry in ways we have never been encouraged before. And as our very tried and true Pastors, Craig Kirkpatrick and Jeff Urwiller, lead this wonderful congregation in the direction of more ministry outside of the "4 walls" of the church, my wife and I find we are thanking God for His providence in leading us here. As Mordechai counseled Esther, we believe we are here "...for a time such as this." All that has gone before in our ministry has brought us to this moment. And we are excited to see what is going to happen. And while I still find it bitter sweet that we closed the doors on our little home church and set aside the teaching ministry I had, God, in His mercy has allowed us to be drawn in by this amazing fellowship of Saints. And while I still have the desire to be a pastor and hope to be allowed the incredible privilege of teaching from a pulpit again one day, He has given me a great contentment and joy to replace that loss. A wonderful wife, an amazing son, a great family and friends, a Gospel proclaiming ministry and fellow street preachers, and now this amazing church. "A man most blessed..." indeed!

Where will the next year find us when I turn 48? Hopefully in a new home in the Weld County area. We want to farm and raise our son in that kind of environment. We hope to continue preaching in our favorite "fishing hole," Old Town Fort Collins on Friday nights. And perhaps fishing some Fridays in another potential fishing hole that we have discovered - Downtown Greeley. If things go right and the Lord chooses to bless us with more laborers, we may get to open a new front in the battle for souls in Northern Colorado. And a handful of people from our church have expressed an interest to come out and see "full contact" evangelism...and we have a whole team of willing and experienced evangelists who are ready to equip and train if people want to learn. We also hope to be involved in our new church home's worship team and maybe even start a Gospel performance trio with another brother who plays guitar and sings. A way to talk about worship, evangelism and tell stories in and around music. And hopefully, I will be able to reconnect in person with some of those Godly men that the Lord has used in the street preaching community to influence and equip me...we intend to have a room on our farm just for them to stay when they pass through (Attn: Robert Gray, Mike Stockwell, Tony Miano, Jeff Rose, Rusty Thomas, Pat Klein and anyone else!). And God willing, I will

be preaching to the crowds with my brothers at the Super Bowl Outreach in Houston, Texas, where hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world will be congregating to celebrate the Super Bowl, but the Lord is bringing together to hear the faithful public proclamation of the glorious Gospel of our Great God and King, Jesus Christ!
I don't know how much writing I will be doing here. Without the Watersource Ministries or Watersource Chapel blogs being up anymore, I needed a place to write and here it is. But when I do, I will send it out through the usual social media pipelines. Maybe if you enjoy this kind of stuff, it will be a blessing to you.
Below are some of my examples of open air preaching from 2016, which is the way I like to deliver the Gospel to the lost the best. Some Christians are great at tracting. Some are great at one on one conversations. I find the greatest joy of Gospel proclamation in standing up on the street and declaring my Mighty King to all within hearing! SDG!
It's been a blessing to be able to minister with you these last...is it going on seven years? Thank you for your faithfulness and encouragement. Happy Birthday by the way! ~T
